Li Yen’s Day & Li Yen’s Thought

Yesterday I went to Times Square to watch the 3D movie entitled Ocean Wonderland. It’s a documentary movie and it lasted for 45 minutes. It has 1 show per day and it started at 5.30pm. I reached and got the tickets at 4.30pm. It’s free tickets given by my aunt.

When the movie started, I didn’t realise that it’s already in 3D and gotta wear the special glasses. I was told to wear it haha After wearing it, I can see the 3D effects such as the fish swam around me and I felt I was inside da ocean, as the narrator.

After watching it, I’ve a feeling that I’ve watched a cartoon 3D movie before but I couldn’t recall anything.

Overall, it is a nice experience to watch a 3D movie and it will be nicer if it’s not documentary type. The 3D movie is kinda short and quite expensive too if wanna buy a ticket. I heard 1 ticket is RM12.00. Haha.

I wonder why APIIT’s staffs like to give last minute announment to the students. I got to know my FYP presentation date on last Fri 27th Oct. Fortunately, my presentation is on this Fri 2nd Nov. But how about those who presented on Monday? Are they prepared for the presentation? Although, this presentation does not carry marks, at least inform the students earlier so that he/she does not have to rush to prepare the slides and he/she could have better preparation.

Same goes to my assignment’s presentation. Yea, we knew that there’s a presentation. But we’re given 24 hours notice. I started to understand and learn from Mr. Mohan’s experience, when he was asked to represent college to present in an event. He has nothing in his mind and prepared the slides during the lunch break. We’re the 1st group to present tomorrow. Good Luck members!

I met her for barely 1 month but she taught me a lot of stuffs that I should have learnt in the beginning. I’m able to catch her style and working well with her throughout the period of time. I met her for few times to explain my FYP application and documentation and I also got her to test my application. She gave me a lot of suggestions and advices regarding my application and documentation.

Each meeting lasted for more than 1 hour and a lot of stuffs were discussed and the application and documentation looked better than before. I met her again, a day before the submission to finalise the documentation and I submitted my softbound on 17th Oct. My hardbound was submitted 3 days later.

End of July,

When I just back to coll and started my semester 2, my previous supervisor told me that she’s going to migrate to Dubai. My response upon hearing this news was a little bit surprise but I didn’t take it very seriously. However, after hearing what my friends told me about other students’ experiences, I started thinking should I ask her to stay for another month. After few days, I dropped her an email asking her about this matter and she told me that I would get a replacement supervisor and she would write a report to the new supervisor regarding my progress. It sounded good and I kept moving on to complete my application before she left.

End of August,

I broke the news to Chooi Yee, my friend who’s supervised by my previous supervisor too when I saw her sitting alone at the library one day. I didn’t know that my previous supervisor didn’t tell her about her leaving at all. She looked quite worry about the matter. She tried to contact me and sister gave my contact to her. She messaged me one day during the semester break and asked me abou the new supervisor. I told her that I didn’t meet the supervisor and didn’t hear anything from her. She told me that we would get to know the new supervisor end of this month. I asked her FYP’s progress and she told me that she’s having difficulties and she’s worry about her progress. I didn’t bother much of the supervisor matter. I didn’t want to think so much on who would be my next supervisor and I just concentrated to finish my application as soon as possible.

In the month of September,
After the semester break, I emailed my previous supervisor I asked to meet for supervisory meeting. She told me that I would be getting a new supervisor soon and the Admin would arrange the meeting soon. One day, I checked my mail and I got an auto-message from Pagol stating that who my new supervisor was. I immediately emailed her and asked to meet one day. She told me that she wouldn’t be free on that week. In the meantime, I asked around, if anyone knows her. I heard from Seetho that she’s quite nice and a lot of people like to look for her. Then, May Yen told me that she’s good too and very helpful person. Ok, I was quite happy with that. At least I’ve one month plus to meet her and explain to her what I’ve done so far.

Well, I felt I just can’t fully accept what she told me on my 1st week of semester 2 when we bump together at the ladies. She just told me that there’s no suspicious over the case and there’s no similarity(huh!! *shock*!!), therefore, the case was considered solved. It’s a verbal reply not even any written document to support what she said. She told me before that I would take about 1 week time and I requested for the result after 2 weeks and she told me it’s under investigation. I have a feeling.. she didn’t really investigate it or not really follow the procedure.

Anyway, since she said there’s no problem and it’ll go through moderation, I let it be and see what will happen later. If anyone comes to me and say i plagerise.. I’ve proved that I have told her earlier and asked her to investigate. I won’t be responsible for the consequences caused by her and the management.

Where’s the JUSTICE?

Today is 13th and also Friday. It is also known as Black Friday. If you’re superstitious kind of person, today is considered as bad day. Google and get to know more about it, hahaha…

But today I feel lucky enough. Choi!Choi!

I would like to know the progress of the investigation from her. I mailed her an email after 1 week of waiting (as she promised that she’ll investigate the case and it would take 1 week to investigate among the community members). I submitted my report on 15th June 2007 and mailed her an email on 25th June 2007 if I’m not mistaken.

I’m not sure what’s going on there and there’s no progress report or any news from her. I felt she has not taken the case seriously. On the other hand she might be working on it by investigating other possible people who’re getting involved as well.

From her email, it sounded like I’m going to lose out and I have a feeling that something might happen in the process and it’s unknown to me now. I don’t know if she had met the another person or not or had talked to my lecturer about this case. A negative assumption can be made, the case might be settled under table. 

How should I trust her anymore from now on? Should I inform another person to help me look into this case? or should I approach the highest authority to look into this case which I can do so by attending their coming AGM if my aunt wants to go. What would happen if I bring up this case and cause a big stir later. I’m going to see the same lecturer and the same person that I’m suspecting again in my next semester? Prejudice among them.

God, please advise…

This is the question that  I would like to ask everyone of my classmates. We’re going to see him again, this coming semester. Good news to all rite? At least we’ve someone we familiar with, we always laugh together and of course we’re going to have some relaxing or at least no so stressing months.

But this also brings another worry to me. Will I ever excel by having same lecturer for the past 4 1/2 years? Will I get bored in his classes later? Initially, I thought we would have the same lecturer as the previous intake, i wished to see that lecturer again, More Handsome!!! ya 

I’ll 4 classes, 3 days a week. The schedule is kinda ok, all late classes. It means I gotta get home late again and fight for a space in the LRT Hopefully, it’s not stressing at all so that I can concentrate on my fyp ya.

As compared to other of my buddies, the CSE students are going to see Mr Sanath only for next semester. Whole semester, every class and each subject. Meanwhile, the COM students and CMT students also have relaxing schedule as I do.

25/5/07 Friday:

I’ve done 2 assignments on time and submited yesterday afternoon together with my Midpoint’s paper. The admin girl, lilian looked very tiring with all the works and assignments on the table. Where is another new girl? Is she chinese? She looks cute but has an arrogant look as well.

With the 2 assignment done, I’ve 1 more group assignment to finish and 2 presentations next wednesday. But now I’m kinda lazy to start off the last assignment. I gotta research and write 1500 words and then pass it to my group members. Hopefully I can pass it to them by tonight or tomorrow morning. We need to prepare a demo application, who’s going to do that? I’ve no idea yet…

After finish all these I wish I can go enjoy my life before my next semester in july.

24/5/07 Thursday:

I started to complete my MWMM assignment with few more print screens and documentation and I got it settled by noon. I was kinda happy that day and I didn’t wanna do so much for it because PMGT needed to be completed as well. So, I decided to start PMGT assignment after that. I wrote half of my reflection journal and then call came in informing me that my midpoint was reschedule at 2.30pm. Hehe finally I got to present. I didn’t feel nervous or scare because my advisor is kinda good person. We talked and talked during the presentation. I explained whatever I wanna explain and my advisor asked whatever my advisor didn’t understand. I might get my advisor’s assistance in my development stage later since my advisor is one of the multimedia lecturer, can get some ideas too *wink*

I received my advisor’s comments and it looked pretty good for now and I’ve to push more harder in my development part. I haven’t decided on the language yet, I will do so during the holidays.
